Ingredients
- Cauliflower florets – separated from 1 Big Cauliflower
- Finely chopped Onions – 1 medium
- Slit Green Chillies – 2 medium
- Finely Chopped Garlic – 3 or 4 cloves
- Curry Leaves – A sprig
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Mustard Seeds – 1/4 tsp
- Garam Masala Powder – 1 tsp
- Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp
- Chilly Powder – 1 tsp
- Salt – as required
- Grated Coconut – 1/2 Cup
- Grated Cumin (Jeera) – 1/4 tsp
Preparation Method
- Wash and clean the cauliflower florets and keep aside.
- Mix together coconut, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder and cumin using hands or you can coarsely grind everything together.
- Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds.
- Add onions, curry leaves, green chillies, grated garlic and saute till the onions are translucent.
- Add 1 tsp garam masala powder, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp red chilly powder and saute for a minute.
- Now, add the cauliflower florets along with required amount of salt and mix well so that the florets are coated with the masala.
- Cover and cook for 5 minutes on medium heat stirring occasionally.
- Open the lid and add the coconut mixture and combine everything.
- Cover and cook for another 10-15 minutes on low heat till the cauliflower is cooked.
- Open and cook on high heat for another 2 minutes until all water has evaporated.
- Serve with Rice or Rotis.
