My mother passed away before I got married. I’m left with the memory of eating and enjoying her cooking but no way of asking her how she made them. Usually when you’re studying you don’t pay attention to what your mother does but you savour what’s put on the table (especially if you live in hostels). Its been a while since I got married now, but I never seem to like any other method of cooking – my mother’s cooking still lingers.

Recently, I came across your blog which had recipes of dishes my mother used to make – simple things like kachiya moru and thakkali curry. I fell in love with your website. Of course, it isn’t exactly as mom used to make them but the taste is close. I really appreciate you taking the time to write out your recipes. Now I regularly come to your site to look for recipes when I remember something my mom used to make.
I’ve tried a few of your recipes, like kachiya moru, thakkali curry, spicy chicken curry etc. My husband loves them and I feel better about making them coz it reminds me of mom. Thank you.

    Dear Shirley,

Thank you so much for your valuable comment. It touched my heart in a very special way reminding me that something as simple as a recipe can remind you about your dear mother.
    God bless!

    Jisha

One thing I wanted to ask – if you’ve made fish pickle, could you post the recipe? Maybe it will be like mom’s. πŸ™‚

I am a regular visitor of this blog and feel very happy when we see a new recipe. Your presentation is very clear. Your reply to queries raised by the visitors are appropriate. I have tried most of your onam recipes like avial, erissery, theeyal, pachadi etc. All of them were very tasty. Congratulations for the successful completion of three years. I also visit your other blog (catholic prayers) and feel very happy that you console and pray for those who are in need of your prayers. God bless you.
